Have you ever stayed up late at night, unable to sleep, wondering about Mario lore? What exactly is the process to take a regular Koopa Troopa and turn it into a Dry Bones? Is it just “POOF”! and an immediate transformation, or is it more…organic?
What if, after being stepped on by Mario, do chosen Koopa Troopa start decomposing until they are nothing but a set of dry, brittle, boney remains? This chalice takes that second idea and runs with it.
On one side, you see a rotting, almost zombie-like Koopa Troopa: Its yellow/green skin is starting to decay and slough off, while the other shows a nearly fully de-fleshed form, with just a few patches of skin clinging on, and a few remaining tendons/muscles.
Perfect for holding any kind of beverage (great to be enjoyed with a side of Peach’s Cake), or used as a vase, or even as a plant pot. Not to worry, this Dry Bones is sturdy and strong, and will not crumble easily…but even so, please prevent any large Italian plumbers from jumping on this chalice.
This chalice is 100% hand-turned, hand-sculpted, hand-painted, and one-of-a-kind. It started its life as a lump of clay on a pottery wheel, then started to gain its character after hours of sculpting, and gained life and vigor thanks to its many, many thin layers of watercolour-like underglazes.
Weight: 1.19 lbs
First Appearance in Mario Games: Mario 3
Note: Handwash only, as there’s too great a chance that a dishwasher might damage this chalice by causing chips, cracks, scratches, or even breakages. Vampira will not stand for damage!
